10 Reasons You Should Love Patrolling

Website Editor • Jul 28, 2016

If you have a strong desire to help others, learn emergency care techniques, improve your skiing and snowboarding skills, and enhance the safety and enjoyment of snow sports for all, you may be cut out to become a Ski Patroller.

Below are ten more reasons you should love it.

1: Anyone can do it!
Ski Patrol is open to all ages. You just need to be comfortable on the terrain. But, you don't credentials in a health care/first aid field (EMT/Paramedic/etc)?
You may still be eligible to join with modified training requirements and/or challenge, so ask us about that!

2: Build new Friendships:
Any volunteer organization will give you the opportunity to meet new people and develop friendships. This program is centered around skiing and mountain safety. Meet like minded folks who share the same interests as you.

3: You are an Ambassador for Safety.
You become an authority in staying safe on the mountain. That means you interact with people from all over the world. You get to help people, while you (and them) learn new things, create new adventures and stories.

4: The best view in the world!

Can't beat looking over the valley every morning and being thankful for the beauty.

5: Skiing/riding with a purpose.

It's not just another day on the slopes. Yeah, that's fun and all, but now you have tasks and people to depend on you. That's what it's all about.

6: Season Pass for you and a family member.

We're offering you and a family member a season pass for your involvement.

7: Training opportunities, EMT-continuing education credits

We have yearly and semi yearly courses to keep our patrollers on top of all current medical and seasonal technologies.

8: Practicing and constantly improving your EMT skills in a high alpine environment

Keep current, and develop new skills.

9: National Ski Patrol membership

National Ski Patrol members have a strong desire to help others, learn emergency care techniques, improve their skiing and snowboarding skills, and enhance the safety and enjoyment of snow sports for all.
